It's a bit rich to claim that Roundup is better for the environment as it means less cultivation, less fuel burnt, but forget to factor in the environmental impact of manufacturing Roundup.

Ever been in a chemical manufacturing plant or heard of Bhopal & Union Carbide?

Might as well say nuclear power is good for the planet, but ignore Chernobyl.

I have heard of Bhopal. And been to several chemical manufacturing plants. Total environmental audit maybe. What will be will be, am sure the green lobby will get their way as the direction of travel for a rich financially Europe is to go to organic production. Ironic that reduced cultivation or no cultivation seems the flavour of the period for carbon capture. Time will tell if it is correct. Other regions of the world will possibly take a different route. Hey ho.

I once worked for an organic dairy farmer who had rotavated (believe it or not) a dock infested field a couple of times and said that had got rid of a lot of them, I never saw it happen as I wasn't there long but he wasn't the sort to bs

Rotavators are the work of the devil so I won't be using one here

As its legal I see no problem with it

It it still detectable in the grain after harvest. I hosted a group of European maltsters in July and one of them said he'd found it in a batch of U.K. Malting barley shipped from the south coast. I asked him if he'd pay a small premium for a guarantee that I wouldn't use it and he said no. The residues were under the legal limit but readily detectable nonetheless.
