Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) has been ranked joint 49th best university in the UK by Times Higher Education (THE).
SRUC has now been named joint-eighth best higher education institution in Scotland and also ranks among the top 500 in the world.
The THE World University Rankings use 13 separate performance metrics covering the full range of core activities for research-intensive universities: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Professor Wayne Powell, Principal and Chief Executive of SRUC, said the ranking was “testament to the outstanding teaching and research being done at SRUC with its new focus on the natural economy”.
He said: “Given that this is our first appearance in the THE rankings this is an amazing achievement, providing solid foundations for growth and future success. I am so proud of my colleagues for their dedication and the outstanding contribution they make to society through their teaching and research endeavour.”
