What is the best comprise on a dd tine drill. New anything too expensive. Simba freeflow too much compaction and too old seed box. Horsch co4 not enough tines and fram cracks if transporting loaded. Simtech ideal but 3m too small and 4m unavailable used.
I need to find something else to convert. Or higher disturbance Sprinter.
I know this is over simplified but any other suggestions. Disk drill is a moore.

Possibly then a co6 with either Metcalfe points or if you want abit more coverage tall to Brocks about a bourgault conversion with still a hell a lot less disturbance than std points. Also I know some people have put a few extra legs in but not as easy as it sounds as means mods to frame. Also co6's seem to be cheaper to purchase than co4's and are definitely stronger but will probably have had more hammer.

I hoped to find an sprinter 6 or 4 less than 8years old for 20k. None found yet.
Any further suggestions, looking for something overlooked / not considered. Im out of ideas.

Kockerling Ultima? We couldn't find anyone who'd buy our old one, so sharpened up the points (well, changed the 3 inch shares to 3/4 inch) and kept it for strawy conditions. Doesn't take a lot of pulling. Don't use it much, but handy to have.

If you need more tines on a CO, you could do this. I changed a CO6 to 48 run. Used Duncan Renovator tines, had to add a second tower and make a splitter venturi. It works really well and is surprisingly good in trash. Drills everything on our place from peas to clover, direct and over ploughing.

We are modifying a KV tineseeder drill to be lower disturbance with better DD capability at the moment. also it will be better suited to drill deep crops such as beans. Will be using Tungsten points and some bits found on other machines. Watch this space !
