Tinnitus

Trying not to focus on it which is easier said than done. It just creeps up on you and it appears to happen overnight, mine is really oppressive at the moment and is grinding me down. I find it helps to have a radio on in the background to force me into concentrating on that as opposed to the constant pitch going on in my head.
It affects my temper threshold with this morning being a prime example of the family giving me a wide berth and being classed as Mr Grumpy which suits me fine as I am not really very sociable with this crap ringing away. Good bit of fresh air helps as long as you're either doing a task you can get your teeth into or you can escape from everything and take a look at the countryside around you.

Good luck

Brother in law has some headphones that cancel out the frequency of the tinnitus noise, might be worth a google. I find quiet background noise helps me, like fan oven or central heating boiler noise level almost cancels it out. High pitch noises sometimes make it worse..

I have had it for about 25 years and tinnitus can be different sounds for different people. You need to see the doctor to find out cause and he should help with tablets like Betahistine Dihydrochloride. You should also cut out salt, everything I have been told to do has not helped me some days its just like a white sound on the TV and bad days its like a jet engine and I can have that in both ears, it might only be a ear infection and should clear up but if not see doc I just live with it and over time you get to ignore it. Hope that helps

My wife has got it bad it affects both ears any high pitch noise goes right through her even if I whistle it pains her, she has to have a fan on when she goes to bed to drown the noise out otherwise she can’t get to sleep, bit of a nuisance during these cold nights!!, it’s a terrible condition, never heard that about salt though I keep telling her she has to much of the stuff, she went to the doctors with it who then referred he for an MRI scan but she cancelled the appointment silly woman!!!

I seem to get it now and again. I’ve been delivered a 70 plate lwb transit a few months back and the drone from the rwd has really set it off. I’ve had a few passengers who cannot believe how noisy it is

I wonder if it’s ear wax that is causing the ringing in my ear.......I had an ear infection a couple of times when in my late teens & the doctor told me to book an appointment for an ear syringe, but I couldn’t face it....that was over fourty years ago & ive still got that ringing🥺 had a hearing test last year & was told to get them syringed but still can’t pluck up the courage........anyone had it done & what was it like. my mate once gave me some horror stories about it...was the sod trying to frighten me.😡

Yup, I’m the biggest scaredy cat when it comes to anything medical I had it done. Didn’t notice anything horrible. I remember driving home and hearing things I never had done before. I must be due another soon as My hearing now is rubbish

Had mine done a few times, nothing to worry about at all, they don‘t use a steam cleaner, just warm water. I’ve had ringing in the ears for a good while, got hearing aids to help but they‘re sat on the bedside table most of the time.
