Tiverton and Honiton by-election

What did the exit polls say??
Very close between Lib Dems and Tory!

I think it will be quite close but the tory's will win it but losing a large % of the majority they held at the last election.

Too many old people in the seat that are very wealthy, very pro tory and have not been or wont be affected by the massive cost increases of day to day life/ house prices or very very low wages in the local area!

Lib Dems see 'tight' vote in Tiverton and Honiton as Tories predict 'difficult night'

The Conservatives won Tiverton and Honiton by more than 24,000 votes in 2019 – but it’s possible that tonight they’ll lose it.
If they do, BBC analysis shows it will be the biggest majority ever overturned at a by-election. It would also be the third time in this Parliament that the Tories have lost a previously safe seat to the Liberal Democrats.
The Lib Dems have thrown everything at this constituency in the last few weeks. I’m told that today alone, they spoke to 20,000 voters here. Senior Lib Dems won’t say tonight that they are definitely going to win – a source told me things are looking “very, very tight”. But the party thinks they are in with a good chance of taking this seat in what would be a huge turnaround.
The Conservatives meanwhile are saying they expect a difficult night. Despite their majority last time, they’d be delighted at scraping by with a narrow win.
We’ll know for sure in the next few hours.
But if the Tories do lose tonight it will make many Conservative MPs extremely nervous and may lead some to think a bit more about Boris Johnson’s future.

Over 6000 majority to liberals now...
I didn't rate any of the candidates bar the green candidate having heard them all speak tbh.

I’ll bet there are 211 Tory MPs that are feeling right pillocks this morning, Johnson will decimate the Tory party & if they don’t dump the idiot they will be thrashed at the next election, not because Tory voters will vote Labour or Liberal but simply because they will choose not to vote at all out of embarrassment!

Will likely see a string of resignations today from backbenchers and advisors. It will be cabinet resignations that will decide his fate. If none of them resign by end of next week he's safe until end of the year. If just one resigns by Monday then he'll be gone by Friday. Will leave enough time for replacement to be chosen before summer recess and queen's speech around tory conference.

I'd say he's got a 50/50 chance right now. The fact he's in Rwanda won't do him any favours. Much easier for conspirators to act when the boss is out of town.
