I helped 2 proper mechanics put a recon gearbox in the Moff. Still have a leak on an oil pipe. :(

Just for @glasshouse I took a couple more photos of my bale squeese today.

The bottom bars squeese in separately to the sides. It puts a lot of pressure on the bottom bales. As long as you get everything square the bales won't fall off.

There is a pair of spikes which close on on the top bales as the side frame closes

The tipping ram is double acting so that it lifts the stack.

Dressing barley and taking to merchants
Of course its to be the most awkward set up one can have. No room to maneuvre about and machine that boils every 5 mins.
Even my wife was out hekping , I wonder what his wife was doing.
A cover that is cheap shite you know the kind of things you buy for your garden.
The only decent thing is the bungee straps to hold it on but then again they are my own.
Then pulled out the farm 4trak from the wettest bit on the whole place. His oldest son stuck it in there and let's not forget it's a 4 trak unstickable but he managed it.

Anyway can't wait for tomorrow pantomime I really look forward to Saturday working at the tup lamb sale at stirling , and I hate sheep.

With a bit of luck I will die in my sleep tonight.
( I am serious)

The chassis looks suspiciously like an old grain trailer, that is a serious ram for squeezing, is it squeezing form one side only?

It is an old trailer with some extra strength. It does squeeze from 1 side it is quite surprising how much the bales will take from the squeeze ram. They are held really tightly.

Then a ride out to pickup the brakes for the 6520 and got that back together.

Remembered that a bearing was going on the auger which was lucky cos there's a load of barley going early next week.

Then another load of straw in the afternoon.

Then had a couple of hours trying to find a fault on the drill, it's got its own thread running on that though so won't bore with the details.

Bad start, dead suckler cow :( will spare you the photo. Sorted some fat lambs for Monday now we have come out of dip withdrawal, not holding out for a good price though. Then the wind picked up and sum came out, so jumped on the combine.......

Got ten yards into a soft bit and the newly fitted belt on the hydrostatic pump snapped clean in two :( more details to come on the dom 108 thread.
