Moved the last of the troughs off field, it’s not that wet, trough was full

Then started this DD thing that seems to be growing in popularity

Seems to be going in ok, but I’ll let the more knowledgable one confirm if it is [emoji4]

Never looked at how it worked to be honest, just seen the holes in the bottom of the boom & thought it was a pin setup.

You are not the first to think that, many folk make that assumption.

The clamp design means you can stop it and clamp it in any position, and it should not move, but if the slides are worn then they can slip, the rear slide is just as important as the front, as this keeps it all square(y)

Varied day at the horsey place today.

Dug up the yard to trace a water leak, found an iron pipe with a hole in it.
Iron pipe didn't go anywhere.
Blanked it off.

Ran a water pipe to the end of the stables and rigged up the new gas boiler for a horse shower so the little darlings have a warm water hose...

Fixed the water pump for the sprinklers.

Checked over the machinery as a last job, Kubota RTV was low on engine oil.

Discovered the fan belt on the loadall trying to escape the plastic cover.
Phoned dealer, at 16.40hrs, new tensioner and belt in stock.
Flew down and grabbed them.
Fitted the new bits and also changed the coolant because it was the colour of urine...

Now I'm sat in the pizza shop.
Need to be in middlesbrough for 06.20 tomorrow!

Thanks for that, will give me a bit more confidence to use it now, maybe the switch crossed or something the day she let go on me.

Does the warning buzzer work? Should sound when the switch is in the boom release position. Possibly you got in it that day and it was released, unbeknownst to you?

When you have released the boom and repositioned it, power the bucket fully back and dead end the circuit for a few seconds, that should ensure full power on the boom clamp, then you can test it by trying to shift the boom with the dipper, just to be on the safe side before you lift the boom up;)
