They'd gone out first thing, so took the opportunity to scrape the front...

When they heard me going about, they soon decided that 'roaming the countryside' and 'foraging' wasn't a desirable option.

The bare floor gives me a chance to check their feet...

All happy now.

Continued with boom number 2 today, on this one the corner had broken out at some point but not been welded back in the right place!

decided the best option was to just cut it out and start again as it was a mile off.
660EB936-4C95-4B93-B5FA-F3E75C9EA38D.jpeg

Took a lot of jigging but got it back where it should be in the end, no more shims either.

Bit of welding on a few other bits to. The boom had cracked same as the other side but not quite as much.

And the end plate as well, it was pointed out on its last test.
F3A66CBB-AF76-4348-A11D-5C14BF6B0110.jpeg

Back pins and bushes went in no problem, quite a bit of ware on the pins.

Another lump I found that needed welding :(
4328B84E-D9F2-4EA1-A917-660E71620423.jpeg

Then stripping the ramsey box for new seals and a new top cover as it had a big crack in it, apparently is common with the white tops!

Think that will do for a Saturday, must be beer o’clock :)

We have 9 tractors here and it's always the 4000 & our 76 Universal 445 that are chosen when people are leading away from us.

Another 2 porches & 3 door surrounds to Mulgrave development at Addingham. I love the area and would move there in a heartbeat. Shi came with for the ride

Had a day out to collect our latest capability upgrade today, a modern fence post driver to replace our old mk1 Parmiter.

Many thanks to James Hayes of Hedge Estate Contracting, Inkpen. (y)

First impressions are that it's well built verging on a bit heavy. It's a shame they didn't fit grease nipples on the slides on the mast and sideshift (which I'll correct). Otherwise I'm looking forward to giving some fence posts some stick with it .

I thought the drop weight was pretty heavy at 300kg until James said the one on his Bryce he's replaced this Multec with is 600kg .
You could try liquid grease on the slides?
Like p/h bed grease, easier and cheaper than laying a cartridge on every time it looks dry.
A 'ballot box' with a big paintbrush :)
Looks a bit flash though,:cool:

...just whipped the belts off mine as it seems the last guy had two different belts on it :banghead: and it smokes the smaller one
You find this out after half a day putting the fecking thing back together with new pulley and bearings on it, and getting all the adjusters free :bored:

Going to make a retaining wall under the trees for a standoff area

looks to good for workshop storage,.
..more like a granny flat or man cave with sleeping facility (arm chair );)
That's what mine has ended up as.
Started out thinking "this will be great for keeping stuff out of the way of the kids" then realised "they won't even think to find me up here"
20180121_152155.jpg

Not as substantial as Neil's one though.

Underlay recommended to prevent glass breakage :)

Took the wool off Shrek today.
Big bugger  bit of a different beast to the Dorper @exmoor dave!
I have been putting it off but today is a bit cooler. So bit the bullet, as it were....
20180121_182605.jpg

Spent some quality time with the stock, moved the sheeps
20180121_184758.jpg

...and set up for sheep work
20180121_195500.jpg
- thinking it may be time to wean the lambs
20180121_185243.jpg
and save feeding their mums as much.
All looking pretty dry about the place, dribbled out a wee bit of silage to help fill a gap, surprised how little spoilage there was on the face.
Stock extremely enthusiastic about some silage - even the lambs were interested.
