Put a small 5 ton load in just to see what it filled like and to get the impact mat in the right place. Should hold a good 12 ton from nearly empty

i like the self for useful items ;)

Not really happy with the colour of it today!! Unfortunately have 15 tonnes of the all in gravel therefore will still have to use it!! Left this part as it’s around the back as a tamp finish straight off the screedbar but tempted to float and brush the front. Needs curbstones and an expansion joint maybe.

What don’t you like about the colour?

It’s darker than what I’m used to! Have two quarries here, on is 500yards opposite our entrance and other in next village three miles away. This load came from one and the stuff before had come from the other, that was a nicer gravel with a lot of fine stones in it aswell. It’s ironic really as we’re actually sitting on thousands of tonnes of sand and gravel here as found while digging trenches. Should of got a screen bucket to sort out some twenty tonnes for stock!!!

I Today’s trip out in the wagon
A job I last did 6 years ago . Up to Carlisle for 20 pallets of empty beer cans 1350000 weighing 2940kg
Then back to Immingham to catch the ferry in the morning
Had a bit of good luck forkie was willing to load from one side
These curtains have vertical alloy slats in them so the don’t slide easily
So raised the roof at one side ,they load the pallets in pairs

Another damp, misty day in this part of Northern Ireland with ground getting wetter instead of drier. Didn't dare venture far from the concrete so hung a few more gates.
Made use of a dumper that hasn't made its way home yet (it's a Benford PT6000 for the dumper enthusiasts).

Wasn't short of power on the mixer

If this weather continues for much longer we won't have any gates tied up with baler twine.
Anorakish moment here but is that the rare David Brown low profile sekura cab?
