Washed the tractor and spreader tonight. Used my new press washer. I bought it A couple of weeks ago. We were in the borders in holiday and passed a JD dealer. The words the wife uttered before she could stop herself were, “That looks like a cheap pressure washer advertised there!” I didn’t need any more justification to pull up and go shopping.

So day before yesterday, dad cleaned the combine down in the yard ready to move. We got moved and after the first tank full we noticed engine oil running down the side of the combine. so a quick check of oil level and a mad dash 3 miles home.

Turns out crank shaft seal has gone so spent all yesterday up a step ladder in alsorts of contorted angles removing the whole power train, bell housing and flywheel.

It's a good job we did strip it because the coupling splines wouldn't have gone much longer, new bits arrived this morning and if I didn't have to go off baling the old girl would be up and running again by tea time.

Nice easy day today for a change, had a look at my mates Sanderson this morning. The boom wouldn’t go in or out, found the valve had unscrewed it’s self.

I then a bit of a welding job on two wagon loading bays, where the ram was mounted underneath it had cracked up. Someone has had a few goes at it before.
