Today at work

Yesterday I moved a few ready for shearing today and my daughter made me sit on the back and be her " gate bitch " for a change.

Took down a header tank now that the cows are out, it would have come down on its own soon.

Then went off to do battle with the 3 acres of nettles that I have been arguing with for 4 seasons so far, no chemicals or cultivation allowed on this bit of the farm.

Year one, grazed with cattle, didn't work.
Year two mowed for hay, didn't work.
Year 3 cut 3 times before finally mowing for hay, didn't work
Year 4 grazing with sheep through the growing season and periodic cutting - a considerable improvement so far.

Sadly not allowed that either, this is the banks of a huge drinking water reservoir, I had thought of it too though.

have you tried regularly driving on them? I know it sounds stupid but we have a thin field next to a stream and if I drive it daily in the truck and take a different line each time it slowly kills the nettles back to the stream bank.

its full of water drop wort now if anyone knows how to kill it without the grass? (Chemicals! IDGAF now)

Sounds like a plan except that it is on the way to nowhere and requires 4 gates to open and shut on every visit.
