I am about 3 weeks behind with posting these photos. A couple of weeks before harvest, a stormy night put over 50% of the crop down nearly on the ground. It made it a bit of a challenge for the contractor's combine driver! That and all the other usual things, like wet ground after so much rain, broken belts, etc, etc

Can't like that. The mess is shocking! How will that soil ever be right again?
Yeh. Maize must pay bloody well for it to be worth that quagmire.
(But I expect our neighbours say that about our pigs. But it doesn't. We just don't see any other options and/or don't think it's all that bad. 🤷‍♂️ :scratchhead: :cry:)
