Since we’ve been taking veg to Riverford, they’ve got to know us and the fact we have stock who benefit from they’re rejects. From carrots and parsnips to courgettes and clementine, but bananas are definitely the favourites so far.
Wonder what they’ll make of these tomorrow? Hope they like them, we came back with over 11,000 of them.

And bit of hedge destruction... someone asked can they drop 3 conifers into field and we'll put up a new stock proof fence... didn't expect them to flatten the hedge as well! Oh well not my field(rented) or hedge but wow.

Mung bean roots - when I dug it up the soil in the plant row was full of new, fine roots from the mungs

broke up the ( wet ) clump of soil, unfortunately tearing off most of the fine roots, but this shows some nodulation happening

PS - we had over 200 mm during December ( more than all of 2019 ) but it hasn’t rained for 3 ? Weeks. Dry on the surface, but still mud around the roots & below. This is what we grow our crops on, more so than in crop rainfall. That’s why stubble retention & moisture conservation rule our farming systems
