Hanging by a thread like the sword of Damocles.
Throttle cable replacement day on my JCB telehandler.

Oh how I laughed when I read the service manual and I quote:-
'Access to the cab end of the cable is limited. Access can be improved by removing the cab front panel'
Oh how I laughed when I had to take the fuel tank off to just get a distant peak at the job in hand.
I had to make yet another 'special' spanner (we've all got one or many!)...

Well the first full week of 2022 is done and dusted and unlike the government do not have alcohol when we get together to sort the day out in the mornings, which in effect is our “Business Meeting”.. . . Although I am considering putting this to Boss Man Chris for these cold winter mornings. I am sure a “wee tot” will put the wind into the sails of anyone before their breakfast time porridge/cake/biscuits/pot noodle. J.

The week started with us on the water pipe works. Pipes to be laid and buried, but that was not the end of it. More pipes to be put in along with trying to find stop cocks. As we all know, usually they are under a sink, near a toilet, shower room or where the main feed enters the property. Not in this case, we found one behind some boxing in the lounge! Still made for an interesting few days for King Kev and Cool Hand Luke. On the plus side, as there is always a plus side, the client now has a new stop tap that does not need a handy man to remove lounge decorations or furniture to get to it. We still have more water pipe works to install here and all being well that will be starting within the next few weeks.

The Evesham Vale Golf & Country club have asked us to start on the draining of their driving range. These works have to be carried out in a few stages to allow the club to keep a section of the range open for their clients. It was a cold start to the day and

when I spoke with Boss Man Chris this morning it was still a little foggy over there. Again though, on the plus side, it was bright blue skies here at the office. A little wet to start, but Dilly Bob was on hand to keep things as clean and tidy as possible.

Boss Man Chris was there earlier in the week, titivating and getting things ready for when the lads had finished the water pipe works. On Wednesday evening they had a quick walk around and the place looks stunning in the evening sun.

I understand that Mrs Dale sent in more cake this morning, thank you Mrs D, always appreciated. There were happy smiley faces everywhere until the cake tin went missing. Early reports from site were just 1 photo of all that was left after Dilly Bob had “cut himself a small slice”. . . . Moving on swiftly, Boss Lady Jeanette brought in sausage rolls yesterday, I went to have one but out of 6 only 1 was left, which I thought was best to leave for the Boss Lady. Not rumour spreading again, but Dilly Bob was the only one in the kitchen before me. . .

Been a good week lads, even if frustrating at times, but you ploughed on and got it done. Thanks for all the hard work and keeping me smiling. Have a great weekend, see you Monday, till then, stay safe and stay smiley.
