Today at work

Friday the 13th!! Those of you who are superstitious, stay home, we don’t want you worrying the rest of us!

Its not been too shabby a week on the weather front, well apart from Wednesday, bit of a damp day for all. I do understand that it was quite "grim up north" after a conversation with Chris Swain of DR Swain & Son on Wednesday evening. He told me his new 20/15 has been busy and asked me to tell Boss Man Chris that he is "looking after our next new machine". Glad all is going well with you and lads Chris, yes please do take care of it, after all, who knows what is around the corner!!

The job in the Vale of Evesham is drawing to a close and has gone really well for us. A bit of a hiccup with the auger on Wednesday saw Dilly-Bob and King Kev race back to the yard for spares but they were soon back to site to get things moving again. Barry Jeffrey Transport has kept us well supplied with stone, cheers guys, and besides its wee brain fart the 15/15 has kept purring nicely. It was calm enough yesterday for Cool Hand Luke to get the drone up to take some aerial shots of the drainage. The drainage is looking tidy and all being well, will help with the black grass problem this site has been suffering with.

Paul has been busy on the sprayer again this week. He as been quite local, fields near Ilmington full of beans and healthy looking beans they are to!!

Dilly-bob seems to be enjoying his role atop the drainer as the "Pipe Stroker". Rumour control says that he mutters at breaktimes about how soothing it is and how it is helping with his biscuit addiction. Boss Man Chris had some cake with him yesterday and had to keep it out of site. We are starting to fear for Dilly-Bob, he was getting desperate at lunch time, on his knees in a hole he had dug by hand looking for cake that was in the van! His obsession with sweet stuff is becoming a worry!! At least Paul was on standby to make sure he didn’t hurt himself.

Been a dam fine week lads, thanks as always for the graft and the giggles. Have a really great weekend and see you all Monday to do it all again. 'till then, stay safe and stay smiley.

Today was spent at the Balmoral Show with the wife and kids. So technically none of this is “today” at work

I was cleaning the yard and silo when my friend landed round with a pump action and some slugs. He didn’t have to ask me twice 😂
