He's got a new guy working for him who has 'grown up on tractors'

Unfortunately he hadn't grown up on them long enough to realise what happens when It isn't level when you tip.

@Nearly paid us a visit this afternoon with his skidsteer to clean out a few pens.

Huge help as loader can't get in to them so usually have to clean out by hand

@Nearly is that good a driver he's doing it with his eyes shut!

Past couple of weeks have been what is now becoming the norm for this time of year. Phone calls going "Where are you?" . . . "Can you be here yesterday?" . . . "That price you gave me in 1982, does it still stand?" . . . but my favourite . . "Hi it's Bernard here from scamming claims, I would like to speak with you about the accident you were recently involved in within the past 5 years"

Love these as they offer a bit of “sport”.

Anyway back to DW Clark, Gloucester finally finished, drainage in, site levelled, tilth 'tilthed' (is that even a word I ask?) grass seed on, Happy Days. Been in for the first cut on it today and early reports are 2 inches came off the top and it’s looking green.

Final stone level in at the machine park out by Stratford, levelled and rolled all done and dusted.

Drainage gang started and finished a nice little drainage job out by Swadlincote, Derbyshire. We have worked for these farmers for the past 5 years. The best work is the repeat work. It is always lovely to know that the client trusts you to get on with it and asks you back to do a bit more every year. This field though had a serious dip in it, I will leave you to make your own jokes!

A small bank of topsoil had to be replaced near Stratford upon Avon. Always know when the boss man has the big toys out as the early morning meetings only last a few minutes.

Boss lady has bought a plaque for the office saying . . “The only difference between men and boys is the size of their toys”!! I don't know how but it has ended up on the 'Certificate Wall'.

Site near Stratford upon Avon needed a repair to the fire main. We found the problem, the lads soon had the MDPE pipe cut out, new piece welded in and buried. You would hardly know we had been there.

Today has been mainly setting up for next week, Cheltenham Racecourse, a research station near Chipping Campden and if all goes well nearly 5000 metres of ground source heating pipe to go in near Welford on Avon. The company who have asked us to look at this job have had our main man looking at a tasty job piping up a complete village with ground source heating pipework.

With seed now going down, dare I say it, we could do with some rain!!

Congratulations to our fitter and his wife finally moved into their new house. Glad it went well guys and all the best in your new home.
