Talking of wet I found somewhere cooler to work last week

We sold the wood and pond to our neighbours many years ago and I agreed to desilt it one day. That day finally arrived.

It looks a bit better now

We just need to spread and reseed this lot to finish the job

Halfway through August and finally the hot spell breaks. The rain has started around our head office and looking at the clouds in the distance they go from blue skies, white fluffy clouds to grey and hold on Mother it’s going to be a rough one. There is no denying it rain is needed in these parts.

Boss man is a happy chappy, harvest finished just in time and he has had a chance to get the big toys out . . . any excuse I say but apparently it was necessary! No good asking me really I drive computers!

Drainage is going really well, still very busy and still the work is still rolling in along with other bits and bobs.

The Lydney gang have cracked on well, nearly finished there, last few drains to go in, a few chambers and bit of titivating. Nothing but good reports from the client so chuffed with the job the lads have done. Still on for finishing ahead of schedule despite the extra works, top job guys and thanks for missing the utilities crossing the site.

The drainage team have been all around Tamworth and Hinckley, those lovely “whilst you are here” jobs are the ones I do like. As I have said many times before, its great that our clients are that happy with us they keep finding us stuff to do.

We have been helping with an irrigation problem near Abbots Salford, a bit of a pain this one, old pipe, old connections. Repair one the next one blows, repair that the next one blows and so on. We started to worry as the irrigation main crossed a main road and we were worried that we would start to need street works licenses, try getting one of those in a hurry! Decisions were being discussed whether it would be best to directional drill or open cut a new pipe in, luckily a camera survey showed that the pipe under the road was steel and the last connection was in the field the right side of the hedge. . . phew!!

Been a great week lads, have a great weekend and thanks for your hard work, ‘tis appreciated. If anyone is at a loose end don’t forget its Brailes Show tomorrow.

Later that night, 7810 conks out in the shed doorway ( don't tell DB John:rolleyes: )
Decided to nudge it out the way with the telehandler, and speared a brand new tyre with the balespike. Perfect.:banghead:

Spent most of the day in the yellow peril loading up. ( very pleased with it )

All was going well until a fairly smart lexus pulls in with a slightly annoyed man with a very very annoyed lady with pen and notebook in hand. It would appear one of the lads went a bit too close to the road

I got radical today and housed my cattle .
Plan is to give the grass or what should be grass, a proper break . It actually rained today, so put some fertiliser on, and hopefully they will go back out soon to a decent bite.
Been feeding them out inring feeders, but they seem to scuff up all the grass around them and mess up the field , despite many moves. I also get the wheels on the manitou covered in muck, just when I need to load wheat. See what happens!

Went to work thi morning finished at lunch as the norm.

Checked on cows on way home. I normally get 2 sometimes 3 cuts of this little field for round bales then eat round the sides and once in the backend of year. this year
1 cut in end of May and this is all that’s grown back. :banghead:
Oh well at least it’s raining.

Then stopped here to take in the cracking view on way home and drive a awsome bendy Road. Nearly 300 mile round trip.
