Bottles, cans, jazz mags, nothing out of the ordinary, but a carrier bag of used nappies :hungover: it really makes you wonder about people.

Friday again, is it me or is this year flying by?

I say this every week and have to admit am so grateful I can. We have been busy! That busy I have hardly seen anyone this week to get camera downloads. Well that and the fact that everyone seems to be having extra-long weekend this weekend!! Why not though, the last Bank Holiday of the year may as well enjoy it.

Lydney is finally finished, machines being removed from site today and tomorrow ready for the fitter t start fitting new glass when he gets back from his hols. Apart from the vandalism it has been a good job, well done Edd and John the main men on site, top graft.

We are back out by Stratford upon Avon at a site where we have carried a lot of work to date for the previous and new owner. The first phase back in February was levelling and contouring the site then installing most of the sewers, storm and land drains ready for the builders to do their bit. Several months later we are back. First job install a 150mm twin wall pipe with a filter sock around the perimeter then simply backfill with a layer of clean stone to about 1.2m deep and 1.0m wide. Usually not a problem, but this site is cut into a hill. The cut had to be far enough back to allow for scaffolding etc which has left rather a large void to fill. Simple answer, gather up all the road plates we have, stand them on edge 1.0m away from the retaining wall, lay a geotextile membrane to stop any soils migrating through, put the stone in the one side of the road plates and soil the other. Remove the road plates and top it all off with a layer of stone. Happy client who was even happier when they asked if we could organise a building inspector for as soon as possible, next Wednesday was more than soon enough.

The drainage team are all over, I have lost contact with them so they have either crashed the drainer and are trying to hide it, or in an area of outstanding natural beauty until you want to use your phone or, what I am banking on, is hard at it and not stopping for tea and biscuits! No doubt I will track them down over the weekend.

Been another good week lads, thanks for you graft and toil, much appreciated. I know some of you are away at rallies, some at festivals and the rest simply spending time with family. Regardless, just want to say, whatever you are doing this weekend, have a dam good time, last long one of the year!! Hope the weather holds better than the elastic in my nans knickers, see you all Tuesday.
