Here’s an interesting fact for you though, my old man is the single most expensive thing on the farm, he cost more annually than any other business expense! But hey it’s only money:ROFLMAO:

Have you factored in how much an alternative operative would cost too? You could have a student or apprentice which would cost you little in wages and lots in stupid mistakes.

Or you could hire a full time person (and probably house them too) for as little as £40K pa and they would still break stuff.[/QUOTE]
I think you need to stop and ask yourself one fundamental question: would you be where you are now without the help and support of your father, and mother? Just a simple view from an outsider.

Have you heard the saying - first generation makes it, second generation keeps third generation lose it!
Well let’s just say forth generation is buying it back instead of selling it off! ;)

Both the cutting room and the freezer fridge units are non-functioning, looks like the fan has drawn too much current and melted the pin on the main microprocessor.
This board is worth about £1k, I know because I just had to buy one for the freezer which was sold unknowingly without.
Here I am snipping contacts and repurposing a pin that is not used now the unit is not road going (ignition feed)

And the verdict is, it worked!
Saved myself the cost of a new loom and processor

Apologies if I some times come across as giving my old man a really hard time:oops:. .

Yeah, but if it wasn't for him, you'd probably have to work for a living

Yes perhaps your right, what I should have done is served my time working for peanuts, then setup my own engineering business, and maybe if it did well I could buy a big tractor, combine, self propelled sprayer and maybe even a couple of spreaders then do some cotract work on the side as well:cautious:

Oh wait hang on, wait a minute:facepalm:

Unusual for us not to have any other utilities in the way so thought it’d make a nice example of a job!
This is the finished result, all bolts exchanged in sequence and due to the tricky location of the pipe an encapsulation muff is placed over joint.

I’d rather be working on some of the locations you lot are posting up though than in the centre of London covered in mud!!
At least at 4m down there’s no one else around!!
