Dug down at the start of a run and put flash on my phone and hoped for the best that photo is actually upside down. Conditions were perfect down there at 20” but it was wearing fairly rapidly.

Got into some wheat today, it’s safe to say no direct drills were used to eastablish this crop.

Cut some shocking osr yesterday so it was a pleasant surprise to finish on a better field today.

The meter isn't calibrated but it's not far off the mark. Never cut rape so dry before.

Perhaps a sign of the times we should all be aware of. Compared to many parts of the country I don’t think we live in a very impoverished area, but it turns out that the local food bank has been inundated and needed more space. As a result we cleared a corner of the yard and offered It, so this arrived today:

It will be round here - everybody on about 60% of usual yields and our neighbour had some burnt in the field by some brats with a box of matches the night before last

Edit... to say, only a few bales as they were still dotted about as they'd dropped out of the baler.

big crops here my pit has never been fuller , i devilled system that needs no hay because I dislike hay so much , bad hay fever didn’t help years of suffering with that for hay to hell wi that.

To make all of you feel good, a 1 ton/ ha crop of rye, the into 0.5 tonne/ha.
Quite chuffed about it though. It's from the dutch version of nature england, no chems, no fertiliser/muck/manure, nothing done to it after seeding somewhere in oktober (or thereabouts).
9 pieces, between 5 and 6 hectare, 4 to 5 tonnes of seed, 210 idiot brick straw bales. Who will beat that low
