Well ..the phone went about half 4 .. " hi we have finished with these bales now and are a bit unsure what to do with them. One of our colleagues said they are a fie risk to leave out over the weekend till we can get a skip to remove them....is there any chance you would be able to pick them up and dispose of them? ....we will make it worth your while"
£100 and 5 bottles of thatchers later

I feel I've been done though ....I took 15 and only had 14 back! .....ah well you can't win every time

Haha, i've been waiting for this post!!!

Not sure how they expected they were going to get them into a skip....or even several skips!!

£40 per bale for 14 bales to buy them for less than 24 hours use - when driving past...!
£100 + 5 bottles of Thatchers to remove them again :love:

I think after some of your recent luck you really deserved that!!!

I agree you've been done - the cost of skips and loading would have been more than your charge....! At least you'll be able to dispose of them in a suitable manner

Hope you wore a mask and a striped jumper while they were counting the £20 notes into your hand! 😂

Few more bales on the heap, I really wanted them as hay to cut down on single plastic use nut with the current forecast it would be ruined by the time it was dry enough.

Finally in the field
W Barley, not really fit as the straws green and sappy but 14% so doing a bit just to get used to a Claas again and to see if there’s anymore issues to deal with

Apart from the bracket that holds the straw chopper sensor breaking and turning the chopper off, which resulted in a bunged combine, all has gone well 👍
Pity about the crop so far, not looking like it will be any use down the pub 😬

I dont think there is a harder task to do than teaching people how to drive tractors, trying to resist the temptation to just do it your self when they are getting it wrong could at the least be described as character building.
Once was teaching someone to top a field with quite a steep bank. I was sat in the passenger seat and said to the "driver" to get closer to the fence and I grabbed the wheel to turn only to knock it out of gear at the shuttle.
It was certainly character building for both of us as we hurtled down the bank. Fortunately he was to shocked/experienced enough to not hit the breaks!
