I wondered what you call the lump on the front, given that we call that part the header. I guess “fronts” is as appropriate as anything!
it can also be called the “comb”, & they are transported on “comb trailers”
the first old Sunshine & Massey Harris harvesters, were an integral machine with the front permanently fixed on the machine, so the whole machine was called a “header” & the bit out the front ( which were originally closed fronts ) a “comb” as they action was similar to a comb through hair . . .
