GOOD AFTERNOON EVERY ONE AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL. . . WE ARE BACK!!
Hope everyone had a terrific Christmas and Santa was good to all, even those that had been on the naughty list.
We started back on Wednesday and literally hit the ground running, there was not even time for the obligatory “How was your Christmas? Are you still married after two weeks of nothing to do?”
First Job, water leak on some houses at a local estate. Thankfully one resident had gone to stay with relations so was not shocked at the early call from King Kev and Cool Hand Luke armed with CAT detectors, pumps, pipe tracing equipment along with the dulcet drone of a Mitsubishi Trojan pick up. Water was being lost somewhere along the several pipes feeding the properties which we had to try and locate and was not obvious. After much digging in gardens, pavements and estate roads, a few conversations and deliberations with the other residents and the client, it was decided that instead of repairing the leaks we found just put a new water pipes in. This will also allow the client to know exactly where the new pipe work runs, at what depth and what type of pipe it is as we have found several different types during our excavations. Made for an interesting start to the year
King Kev was absconded away to the Evesham Vale Golf & Country Club for a day to help with a bit of muck shifting. Boss Man Chris managed to get some photos of the last drain we put in just before Christmas. This drain is for the bunkers. We were told what depth the bunker was going to be dug to and put the drain in accordingly, after we made sure we had enough fall to the outlet.
All in all it has been a good 3 days and almost “gentle” start to the year. The only thing that did have us all wondering was when Boss Man Chris thought his overalls had been shrunk in the wash, the rest of us thought more along the lines of too much chocolate over the Christmas period! As it turns out it was neither, it was a pair of overalls that Cool Hand Luke thought had been lost but now have been found. . . . Dilly Bob on the other hand though, well not wanting to start the year slating anyone but we are all wondering if he had a part time job in a chocolate factory as he does look a tad snug in his overalls amongst the mumblings of “I will slim into them!”
First 3 days back lads and glad to see you are all in fine fettle and still grafting and laughing, thanks for the work this week. It wont be cold forever, summer is on the way. See you all Monday for the first full week, till then, stay safe and stay smiley.

The top pin knocked out ok. The bottom pin I cut off either side of ram with 9 inch grinder and pressed it out. Then made up new pins. It had sheared the tag off which holds the pins on an m10 bolt.

More destoner maintenance. Renewed the cross conveyor drives.
Press had a refusal so had to give them a bit of grinder therapy.
New bush in one of the web tensioner arms.
New chain that drives the rake arm.
Split main web to get shaft out as its wearing a bit thin on the ends.
Changed a few worn rollers.
Straightened a side plate.
Measured up pto shaft for new cover as original is starting to fall apart.
