It’s the most smelliest time of the year. Hopefully the couple of late nights this week spent fixing the dribble bar pay off later.

one of my twin bearing ewes has collapsed with excitement at getting meal! She was ok by the way, wasn’t there long.

A familiar sight to jd owners, welding "new" steps in. The lowest step tends to go bananashaped as you jump on them. I always strengthen them with some strip. I also weld a strip under all steps from front to back under the closed part.
You cannot see the enforcement if you don't look for it which I like.
The welded in steps where salvaged from the scrapheap at the dealers

A cut up greenhouse table. A little bit rough and ready, but does the job

Oh boy...
If it works it works but man. It does seem to be fitting to the tractor as a whole though
Our machinery maintenance could be kindly termed as “functional”. I am trying to get better, but a little rusty mudguard wouldn’t be top of my list 😂 in my defence, the tractor was on the hedge cutter, and swiftly switched to slurry today, neither of which are going to leave it very clean!

The end of another week and all is quiet on the western front thankfully.

King Kev and Cool Hand Luke have been merrily beavering away on the water pipe installation and are moving it on quite quickly. A few obstacles to get around this week, I say obstacles, they were more like horses. The owners were extremely amiable and the horses were moved before we got the 360 into their field. Our new equine friends are very friendly though as one went to say hello to Luke whilst Kev was opening the gate this morning!!

The lads have had a few other spectators for the past few days as well. The local herd of deer has been making an appearance of late and by all accounts are not bothered by the 360 at all. Happily grazing away while the lads are working, they even posed for a quick photo. Not only are our lads good at what they do, secretly they are also animal whisperers!!

Boss man Chris and Paul have been carrying out a deep dig installation of a new 150mm twin wall carrier drain at The Vale Golf & Country Club. This new pipe is to link up with an existing 300mm outfall pipe and will be used at various points as works progress over the next few months. The easiest route to the 300mm and without encroaching on to the fairways is through the rough. Unfortunately this is on a bank! First job was to level the area to give a steady base to dig off; nearly a meter of soil was moved to achieve this. Once this was done we could dig down another couple of metres to lay the pipe, then it was a simple install, sprinkle over a generous covering of 20-40mm clean aggregate (did I just all “Nigella?”) Then backfill to the existing surface level with what was dug out. All going well and looking tidy, even the weather is shining on us today J

I am a bit concerned about Dilly Bob this week, not been his usual jolly self. I think the withdrawal from the few weeks of lattes is having a serious effect. Not even the Ferrero Rocher or fudge that Boss Lady Jeanette brought in has managed to ease the symptoms. I am sure he will be back to his usual self come Monday though, he is a proper little biscuit munching monster like that!

A good week lads, pipe going in and all is well in the D W Clark world. Thanks for all the hard work, I hope not to be crying like a child that has had his dummy stolen after the rugby this weekend. . . But who knows when it comes to an odd shaped ball. Have a brilliant weekend and see you all Monday, bright, breezy and ready to rock n roll.
