Going warm again but now playing the rain game! Hope the weather is being kind to you all during harvest.

Monday had King Kev carrying out camera surveys on blocked fowl drains. Morning TV has nothing on watching drain survey videos at Breakfast on the first day of the working week!! On the plus side, the survey highlighted the problem, several disjointed pipes stopping what should be a free flowing sewer.

Tuesday saw King Kev and Cool Hand Luke (just back from his hols, where apparently 8 cans of cider was cheaper than 1 packet of pringles!!) start investigating a water leak near Warwick. Our Lads had a bit of a surprise when the cut the tarmac back and found that someone had stolen the sandy soil that should be holding the road up!! Road plates were brought in and the drive way was off limits until the all the leaks had been found, repaired and we had at least got some type 1 stone back in. All being well and barring any surprises they should be done today. The lads told me they have found the upgrade to my "wheels of steel". . . .they are a cheeky pair 😂

Boss Man Chris and Brother Paul have been pushing mud most of the week for one of our neighbours. Lovely to see some of the largest bits of kit we own playing nicely together. The 21t Zaxis and Komatsu made short work of the mound that needed levelling.

We had a call on Tuesday from a local growers who had an irrigation pipe blow on them. Boss Man Chris and Brother Paul donned their capes, loaded the 8t 360 on the lorry and went to sort it out. Not an easy a fix as we would have hoped for but nonetheless they got the water back on and pumping later that day. It was a bit of a warm up for today as last night Boss Man had a call saying an hydrant pipe in a different field had blown so it was back on with the capes and out the door first thing this morning. A faster fix this time, all we were asked to do was cut off the hydrant and blank off the pipe. All done just before lunch, much to the delight of the grower.

Dilly Bob must have bumped his head this week as in a fit of madness he decided that a couple of rams on the back end of the 10/12 drainer could do with a touch up. Nothing major, just a rough up and a bit of paint. That was Tuesday. Fast forward 3 days and all I have heard since Tuesday is a sander sanding, DillyBob blowing and cursing and the Chocolate Digestives disappearing at a speed that would put Homer Simpson to shame!! Not the best time to be wearing a mask for sanding I am just glad that Dilly Bob loves this warmer weather!! On the plus side, the 10/12 will look nice when it’s done as the Dilly Bob does do a good job.

Been a dam fine week lads, thanks for all the graft and the giggles along the way. Have a great weekend and see you all on Monday, till then, stay safe and stay smiley. 😎

earlier in the week i saw a bale chaser and tractor sorry not sure what make but was not a fastrac was on the M11 is that legal or was they just chancing there arm between the two junctions that are close together at that point
I saw a Fastrac with a hedge cutter whizzing down the M5 weekend before last. I wondered at the time if he was chancing his arm, it was about 4.00am and it was still dark. There were no cones out or signs indicating verge cutting was going on or any sort of roadworks. Don't know if they're motorway legal. I guess it is down to how the Fastrac is registered
