Decided I just wanted to get out for a drive today, despite questionable weather and the fact it’s now filthy. Had great fun, ended up at Keilder water.

I love to get up to Kielder but can't ever remember going and not getting soaked.

Nice photos, but it's a shame some bloke kept sticking his car in front of the view. Some people have no consideration and I hope you gave him a stiff telling off.

What's best time to go to St Cyrus for tides? Planning going next week.

Wrote off a clio up near St Cyrus many years ago during my yoof. Spent part of my college year out, working in Inverbervie, can remember going to the phone box in Stonehaven to ring home every Sunday night:ROFLMAO:. Those were the days, sigh emoji.

10am Wednesday, low tide at half past and weather looks decent

wheres the tower and what is it? Can see something similar from the house.
Scolty hill just outside banchory. Towers closed at moment due to covid.

Are there rock pools at st Cyrus? Remember going to Catterline to play in rock pools as kids and getting stranded when tide came in. :banghead:

Hence my question on tides!

not really, basically just a massive sandy beach.

lunan is excellent for rock pools at low tide and you’d only be another 10 mins in the car.

week day morning it’s not going to be busy either

@Chae1 st Cyrus is good anytime. Even the last few weekends when car park has been full there is plenty space on beach. There is still sand when tide is right in but better when out a bit.

Kids were in the sea on Saturday again and I had to go in to my knees with the youngster, bloody freezing but they love it.

Also saw dolphins on Saturday which was a first for us there.

When we were young we used to go down the path from St Cyrus village and were nearer the north end. I think there were rock pools right up at the North end. Certainly big rocks and caves if I remember right. It is a long walk to that end from the car park down beside the ranger station though, so haven't taken our kids up there.

Lunan bay is great too. We have just been to St Cyrus lately because the car park was shut at Lunan.
