would it be ok to spread CAN now if there is no rain forecast for the next few weeks. would it just be wasted? or safer leaving it for a week or so, its for orchards so it will mostly be onto bare herbiside strips..
we do have a little dew in the mornings at the moment. But with the weather hotting up this week and no rain forecast for a while it has left me unsure.

The roots will be near the surface in a herbicide strip and the 'melting' with the dew seems to get the gubbins near the roots in my experience.
I expect it is for Bramleys and the main reason for spreading is to boost next years crop and you want it to to do its good work by mid August so it seems a good idea to spread - in NI there ought to be a drop or two by the end of July?
The worst that could happen is it is not taken up until autumn, but with leaf fall in November it should still be available in the plant for next year.
To be picky a leaf analysis would be good to confirm the quantity needed.
