Too much carbon, not enough carbon dioxide.

sure Dad said they killed them here with a humane killer [captive bolt]
do they use carbon dioxide in small slaughter houses ?

How about innovating instead of squealing like a load of stuck pigs [pardon the pun]

trouble is 'we' (as a country) have got hooked on this 'just in time..import as a quick fix....big is beautiful' in all sectors and the proverbial 'chickens are etc'

It will only be the big places that use co2. Most medium/small slaughterhouses will use electric tongs. Once again, the idea of concentrating slaughter capacity in fewer places comes a cropper.

Absolutely,
shut all the small places,
have to haul both the livestock and the meat around more, lack of drivers
big places with automated systems, now can't run for lack of carbon dioxide,
didn't the smaller places cope better during the pandemic to, local one was certainly very busy but kept going.
put all your eggs in one basket if you like but don't cry if the lot get smashed

It appears we've that much CO2 in this part of the world that we're building a pipeline to pump it out into the North Sea (not quite sure what we're going to do with it when we get it there though :scratchhead: )............

Sets off from the power station at Drax, picks some more up from the steelworks at Scunthorpe and a bit more from the refineries on the Humber Bank and out into the sea.

I expect you could gas a few chickens with that lot.

We haven't got squared up with last year's water pipeline yet but it looks like we'll be having one for CO2 anytime soon :banghead: :banghead:

Are they going to start gassing cod now instead of all the trendy line catching malarkey? 😁
