Top link suitable for sumo trio etc

Looking for a knuckle / closed ball end type top link suitable for a Massey 6495 / 6499. Cat 3 implement end.
Have been looking on web but some only say suitable up to 180hp.
Need to be able to get a replacement end if need be in future.
Don't know if Massey do a genuine one, but would imagine price would be extortionate! Although cheaper than a new set of tyres.
Any suggestions / suppliers?

Id of thought that your best bet would be to go for something from the 8600 series or similar?

That was what i was wondering in order to get something heavy enough duty.
Dont know if anyone makes a heavy duty after market tol link suitable for one of these though?

I'd go for a hydraulic top link with a closed end.

Been here and done this ,,,,, very wise to look for a strong top link ,,,,, hydraulic top link not necessarily the right way to go as a neighbour who was very proud of his new hyd top link hit the wrong button in the cab and put a tine through the tyre

Anyway ,,, when we had our disaster we just went up to a Magnum top link , a friend who ran a Fergy 6499 took my advice after a near miss and hasn't had a issue since ,,,,, I believe @Gruffalo didn't take my advice tho.

Thinking about it our Case dealer put Magnum top links on our Pumas as part of the deal because he knew we ran a trio ,,,, the friend with a fergy said he was surprised at the price ,,, there's a lot of steel in a magnum top link and it wasn' much dearer than some one else's lighter top link

We only lost one tyre tho as only a 4 legger

Are hydraulic ones stronger? its the ends fitted that matter, and do they have check valves for when a hose spilts?

Yes to check valves ours has one and as to stronger guess comes down to rating.

Don't know whether this would be suitable. Only concern is whether you would be able to get a new replacement implement end for it if needed in the future and what price the top link is from a granit dealer.
Would have to use a reducing bush on tractor end as it is cat 2.

Yes you could use that, and you could use a reducing bush to CAT 2. The thread is 1 3/4", a new end with those threads is not listed but I'm sure some one would do one.

Granit part number 20000164 is the hydraulic version, fixed ball CAT 3

Did thousands of ha with a JD 7930, so maybe a JD link. Certainly broke a Massey and a class one before, luckily without killing a tyre

As said above, son has sold the trio now, blaming it for the increasing BG burden

No tractor manufacturer build their own linkage parts, they’re mostly Walterscheid or CBM units. Just have a look for them on Kramp, Granit, QTP etc and pick the best/strongest/heaviest or most suitable one. Be carefull with cat 3 ends with a reducer bush on tractor ebd as the tractor casting may not have enough clearance!!! NHs with the knuckle joint used to be a pain as they were narrower and had near enough no clearance between pin and casting!!!
