Topcon correction setup

When I go into correction setup mode, I ha e a block with EGNOS/automonos/ and something I can’t remember but not automatic. And I can’t find “automatic” anywhere else. Where might I find it please? As I think it might help to improve performance 🤠

A picture from my manual, not the unit

You saw autonomous. Do not use that as it will favour gps signal . So basically non corrected gps .
ALWAYS use Egnos with the correct sat numbers selected as a minimum.

I have 5 different EGNOS numbers. I engaged them all🤔. Certainly, it works much better than autonomous.
Is engaging all ok? Or I should keep trying one at a time?
That’s why I liked the idea of automatic 🤔

yoir method is fine as it will then connect to the strongest of those 5! Autonomous is pass to pass accuracy of about 1.5m so please don’t use it!

Automatic is used with rtk if I remember correctly. Basically it will default to egnos if rtk drops out. So if you don’t have an rtk module in receiver on roof. Don’t select it

That was how it came and yes it, wasn’t good.
I’ll take a photo of my screen tomorrow and post it. Maybe you would be kind enough to look and see if one of the other options would be better?

U can see what satellites to set Your receiver to listen to.

There is also an Egnos app for Android devices in Google Play store. Signal in Space there will show the Realtime Status of Egnos. Right now 123 & 136 are OK and 126 is Test Mode.

That’s deutz system!
press second from bottom on left hand side.
then go to ab lines, then you can delete them there. It’s made hard to do so it’s not done by mistake

Thanks.
It is in a deutz.
Well, that is as clear as mud but have managed it now thank you 👍
I was getting a bit worried I would end up with a thousand lines :banghead:
Maybe I will get used to it but after some dozen years or more with green start, I am finding it very unnecessarily unclear😕

At first all the screens feel confusing. Once you get a bit familiar with your screen, it feels simple and all the other brand screens feel confusing. The Topcon screen is likely one of the most user friendly screens, at least at the time it was introduces.

I don't often use this screen and the question mark button helps a lot if you at any point are uncertain about the function of any button. Easy to forget after reading the manual. Robt once reminded here and now even my memory seems to keep the advice safe.

Hi all,
sorry to hijack but I've got a problem with RTK on an AGI-3/X30 system.
I can receive corrections over ntrip no problem, and for about 5 minutes the RTK and autosteer worked perfectly.
Then the unit decided to stop applying the corrections despite them still being received. The accuracy fell to uncorrected GPS.
Rebooting did nothing.
Is there something I am missing?

Could be useful to mention the base and list RTCM messages in use.

Of course,
Base station is a Ublox F9P, with the following messages:
1005, 1008, 1074, 1077, 1084, 1087, 1094, 1097, 1124, 1127, 1230, 4072

the antenna identified through the 1008 message is ADVNULLANTENNA
The strangest thing is why it would work at all. I can understand it rejecting the whole stream from the start.. But after 5 minutes of use?
Hence why I'm leaning towards a config issue with the Topcon

Honestly no idea why it worked for a while and then stopped.

I have never worked with an AGI-3 but I'm surprised that it supports MSM messages. A much more recent AGI-4 as an AGCO variant does not accept MSM messages (not with the SW releases I've had). Then again, I do remember someone claiming success with AGI-3 and MSM messages. If it worked for 5 minutes, I guess MSM messages are not your issue.

AGI-3 must be only GPS and GLONASS capable. Perhaps better to suppress other constellations from the stream, at least for a test. I would actually start with GPS only. Why not RTCM1004 too just in case.

There are a lot of discussions about the antenna phase difference issues and related RTCM messages. One Topcon issue however is hardly discussed. I leave the details out but the Topcon receiver basically needs to know if the base is from Topcon or some other manufacturer. Usually the receivers identify the well known brands but you might need the 1033 message too. Also I'd try some known antenna e.g. from Novatel instead of the advnullantenna (even if advnullantenna is often reported to work well with many receivers). AGI-3 should not consider ADVNULLANTENNA a Topcon device but who knows how it behaves if this antenna is not on its list of known antennas.

Once it works with GPS only, it would be easier to move to dual constellation operation.

Difficult to see a configuration issue at AGI-3 that you would not have covered. Specifically if you can see it receive the RTCM stream and it worked momentarily. One never knows for sure, until you have figured out the issue.

This is mostly guesswork. Hopefully someone has worked it out with F9P and can help with a full solution.
