Topcon correction source setup

I have a few questions about my Topcon x14, can anyone lend a hand? It's just the basic one with SGR1 receiver on the roof with access to the free satellites..

1. Should correction source be Autonomous or EGNOS? I am told EGNOS is better accuracy but I only get 9 satellites, whereas in Autonomous I get 20. But the handbook says Autonomous is only capable of 2-5m accuracy, which can't be much use?

2. If I choose EGNOS, I then get another screen with various EGNOS PRN options to enable or disable, I haven't got a clue what they mean. I assume GLONASS may as well be enabled?

3. I also sometimes get this warning message but again have no idea what it actually means. Is there something wrong with my setup?

Any help would be appreciated! I bought system second hand so haven't got a dealer to fall back on.

Cheers

You should select EGNOS. It only works with GPS satellites, this is why you see less satellites compared to the autonomous mode. Pass-to-pass accuracy with EGNOS should be about 30 cm, absolute accuracy lower but better than that provided on autonomous mode.

For EGNOS you should select those PRN satellite numbers that cover your location.

The warning comes if you are trying to use some waylines that have been created with a different correction signal from the one currently used. You can ignore it because the absolute accuracy is poor anyway for both autonomous and EGNOS modes (most often you would have to remove drift anyway).

Just tried mapping a field boundary (without an implement attached) the field is 12.85ac according to my farm map but the Topcon has recorded 13.92ac. Could this inaccuracy be down to the Offset?

I took it to be from the centre of the tractor (the antenna is in the middle of the roof) and allowed a +2.5m offset (1.25m to the outside tyre and another 1.25m to the edge of the field)

If you had no implement loaded then You did correct and field map is wrong. If you however had an implant loaded ( blue line behind green triangle then you have added an extra offset .

So if you have an implement loaded and set at 24m then it will record at right of implement 12m from centre of tractor ( end of boom) you then have no additional offset

Ok thankyou. A problem I seem to be having is an error message when I start the tractor

I have already deleted and created a new implement but the above message has come back again. When I try to amend the implement I then get the following and the unit freezes:

After this I have to switch off the tractor and boot the system back up again. I recently had the firmware updated to latest firmware, could there now be a glitch in the system? It never did this before the update
