Is there a way to see if the X45, AGI-3 are communicating with the RTK modem?
Why bother with the ntrip and gsm if T-moblie doesn't have 2g or 3g in my area?

The point is I think you actually DO have 2G cover as per my earlier post above with the network map. Looks like Minnesota actually has good overall 2G coverage from T-mobile.

That and the fact your Tx/Rx light was flashing when you tried the setup. I think the cellular modem actually was connected to the network.

The fact that the RTK modem enters the "PPP connecting state" means you have GSM coverage (Pheasant Surprise explained this half way back in the thread). You did not report if the modem state remained the same after changing the APN? GSM coverage may turn out to be too limited on your fields but seems sufficient for receiver testing.

You should really find a GSM capable phone for testing. The phone would not need to be any very old 2G phone as long as it is one of those GSM/UMTS/LTE type. If your new "full sized" SIM (actually the big SIM was credit card sized but only too old people remember those) is one of those that can modified to fit to a new phone. From the phone settings you can most often restrict 4G and 3G access, forcing the phone to 2G only mode. Now it would behave just like the AGI-3 modem even if it was an LTE capable phone. Unfortunately subsidised phones often have these menus disabled (my pretty new Android phone has that setting).

It's now back on, WOW did that change things. I'm kind of lost, a few of the setup screens are different and I don't know what should be in them. Also the side buttons have changed. Is there an updated reference page online? I'll attach some photos. Is RTK (NTRIP) CORRECT?
GLONASS: Disabled?
on the GSM page at the bottom are New line items. the 777 was there already, and so was cell roaming: disabled.
I filled in the NTRIP setup and finished but it never went to any of the PPP status states. I'm a little confused because of the symbols on the side buttons have changed to.

in pic 1226 the user and pass on the GSM page is the user and password for tmobile apn, i googled and i think these are not set so i would leave them blank. In 1227 the top line use the server IP not the address name

I actually found this with a quick google, APN: Fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices) or epc.tmobile.com (for non-LTE devices)

so did you try the epc.tmobile.com?

The epctmobile.com is what I'll try next. As for the IP address I was told to try the mncors.dot.mn.us first. as that's what there using now. but the 151.111.143.8 is their numerical #.
Now that I've tried, I still don't get to the NTRIP ppp statis page. But I changed both lines at the same time. I'll go back and do one at a time.

Yeah as Wombat says you’ve got your MNCORS username and password in the GSM Setup screen where these entries should be left blank:

I would also try:

1. deleting the “0000” entry for the PIN number for the SIM at the top of that screen. I’ve never had a SIM PIN number enforced on any of my gear, so I reckon it’s worth a shot just removing this entry.

2. Enable cell roaming:

Nothing really to do with getting NTRIP setup but you should in any event enable GLONASS satellite reception too:

Still no, PPP status. Don't believe there is ny 2g, or 3g. available here is rural MN.

Do you mean it still does not pass the PPP connected state or do you mean it now does not even enter the PPP connecting state?

I'm still puzzled about the SIM pin. It would be better if the SIM PIN was disabled but this cannot be done with the Topcon screen. The SIM card would have to visit a cell phone and SIM PIN disabled there. If you don't have a compatible phone, then better to visit a shop and let them disable the PIN query (at this point you would be able to figure out if the SIM is PUK locked). I agree with Pheasant that disabling SIM PIN is recommended, one error source less. It just isn't sufficient to leave the PIN field blank in the screen menu if the SIM was as from the shop.

A pity if it turns out "no 2G coverage" even at the farm. Would have helped getting the gear up.

I also don’t want to appear to be flogging a dead horse on the this 2G coverage business, but I reckon there is some hope.

Mentioned this before, but it’s probably got lost above. For what it’s worth I would check the 2G coverage online.

The T-Mobile site doesn’t easily display 2G coverage, but these guys do as their personal alarm type equipment still operates on 2G....

What does it say for your zip code @Tazzerblue ?

As said Minnesota looks to have the best T-Mobile 2G legacy coverage of any state.

If you scroll down the Diagnostics page, as below photo, can you see the NTRIP connection state?

You guys left a lot of information to work through. I was busy today. then left for the weekend. So I wouldn't be snow bound at home.. 12+ inches and a Blizzard warning all day Saturday. Enjoy your weekend.
Thanks,

Well in the mean time, I made the roof bracket and installed it today along with the AGI-3 and X45. I attached a couple of photo's..
