I've a 9' Foster topper, sits directly behind the tractor.

It's pretty good, my only gripe is the gearboxes everyone uses on toppers - they ain't built to go on 100hp+ tractors

Have a 20 year old Connor as well. Holes starting to peak in the top panel. Would go completely offset next time. Find I often have to drive around the field in reverse to get any decent finish on field. Sick of tractor wheels flattening down grass when driving regularly.

I know you want a side mounted but we have a rear mounted McConnel Rhino (topper 9) had it 12 years now of doing 900+ acres a year, no problems with it but would love to upgrade to a 4.6m but the Rhino is at the limit for my tractor :(

I’ve got a 8 ft Teagle fully offset. It’s built like balsa wood and doesn’t do a great job on heavy grass but if it’s a bit of light topping clearing up behind cattle or sheep it does a lovely job. I am sure they still make them new.

I have been hiring a big topper for the last few seasons and I have now bought a new McConnell batwing which is just in a different league to the little teagle.

I am on my second twose topper now, only traded in the first one because I got back what I had payed for it 7 years earlier.
Very well built toppers, (probably the best on the market!)
Cut like a razor with the highest blade tip speed out there.
Mines a 3 rotor 9ft premium topper. How big a tractor are you looking to put a topper on?
I put 125hp on mine and imo it needs all of it! The sales brochure for the twose states minimum pto requirements @50hp, I'd love to see a 50hp Tractor pick the ruddy thing up, let alone drive it!! [emoji23]

have a fully offset slewtec one here , since new ,all direct drive (no belts) good build , and i like the fact the deck folds up so easy to wash down after use , no rust even though its 20+ years old and does 100ac a year

we have a 9' foster but only put 70 hp on it, had a seal go on one of the side gearboxes so I drilled little breather holes in the filler plugs and its been ok since
