Went over on my ankle must a been early to mid june, wasnt much of a twist but it was like a stick snapping and instant lump on my ankle, straight off to a and e, x-ray pretty quick but 2 hrs laying in cubicle for doc to wander in and say it not broken just torn ligaments. He did say would heal faster using it but dont over do it so thats what i been trying to do. First couple of weeks couldnt do much at all, been doing more since but still struggling, little twists can still really hurt. Do these things just take lots of time? getting a bit frustrating now, doesnt help I'm also waiting for cortisone injection in my elbow I'm feeling like a bit of a cripple.

My sympathies, I had the same 2 years ago. As said above will take about 3 months to feel right again. Had physiotherapy too. Since then have never worn dealer boots , now wear proper lace up boots with ankle support.

I do wear lace ups but have been looking at new boots with more ankle support. I think it's the frustration of knowing I have to stop when it's tired or staring to hurt etc and the feeling of getting nothing done. Usually try make the most of light nights but haven't been able to get anything done just had to sit with feet up. I've never drank so much tea.

Sounds familiar. It takes time not a lot else you can do. Got a good pair of Buckler buckshot padded ankle boots, when I got those on it seemed to help when I was on the farm. Now it's better I'm always aware of how painful it was so still ware same kind of boots. Time and light exercise is only healer [emoji53]

Sometimes you just have to sit down, I'm afraid.
Treat it like a broken bone and you won't go far wrong. First results can be wrong, too, although not often.

When you are sitting down try to elevate that leg. Try cool packs on it in the evenings. I think horse chestnut gel helps to reduce swelling (Boots sell it).
If you can go easy with it now it should last you longer in the long term.

Unfortunately it takes time, I knackered my knee up in January, they suspected torn cartilage but MRI came back clear, so was probably damaged ligaments and muscles. I was on crutches and had a brace for about 10 weeks, and it was probably May/June before it was normal...
