Does anyone have any first hand experience with these? Are they tough enough for farm use or are they more suited for golf courses?. Not expecting it to be a Hilux but could possibly be a cheaper and slightly larger alternative to a gator/ mule.

Very capable. If anything they’re tougher than the standard machines. . Maybe not as fast and “nippy”. Most are 2wd and manual gearbox but the latter ones may be 4wd.
I’ve sold a few workman and pro gator, the Deere equivalent.
Both have a decent hydraulic supply that would power a log splitter. Toro’s have a 540 pto output

Depends which model you're talking about. MDX/GTX are golf course type, 2WD only. A friend has one for her large garden, its fine for that but I wouldn't want to drive it around a farm other than in dry conditions. UTX is pretty much like a gator, HDX heavier built than the MDX/GTX but I'd guess you'd want a 4WD one for farm work.
