Total bias from TV stations

Even in the heart of rural Norfolk" The Eastern Daily Press" is so biased towards the lefties agenda that it has become unreadable to any Conservative or Brexit minded individual.
It is starting to become anti farming and its distribution has been crap this last week or so in my area. I should stick to the Kings Lynn free paper and read the ads.

I wonder where the fellow you mention gained his medical degree. Mental health is a killer and it is not easy to diagnose the issues. It should not be trivialised, stigmatised or the likes.
Mental health is a real and serious problem which has increased rapidly in recent years. We may now be more aware but I think the increase is real. We seem to have little idea about the causes and therefore not much chance of prevention. As usual we seem to be throwing money around and sticking on plasters.

You know things are bad when the undertakers mention the increased suicide rate...

The addiction culture is rife and a form of relief or escapism but again is a symptom and not necessarily a primary cause of human self destruction. Are we pushing young people too hard and not educating them in means of looking after themselves and avoiding the first steps towards disaster. ?

I’m not convinced it’s young people or addiction issues - just the pressures of modern living.

In fairness, people who work long hours for little return are more likely to suffer depression. And people in that position are often Labour voters based on demographics.

However this year I see so many people who are the zero-hours, 3 job working, never take a sick day type still voting conservative.

At the end of the day, I think public sector workers are going to be more left-leaning as they see the damage being done by conservative austerity measures.

Whether they take more time off or not says little about their work ethic imho.

FFS ..

Most children of farmers have worked since their early years for little or nothing. I still get VERY little off the farm in my 50s.

But of course I can't take sick days .. nor do I have a Union I can use to get free time off .. nor do I have a massive gold plated pension with early retirement.

If you are self employed you don't take time off unless you HAVE to because no one is footing the bill nor doing the work you wanted to avoid in the first place.

IMHO public workers simply should NOT exist.

University of Bristol, but he is not a GP or psychiatrist, he's a microbiologist. No, I agree, genuine cases certainly should not be done down in any way, but when someone claims to be unable to leave the house for work yet can make the effort for 'jollies' and shows no symptoms except when visiting a doc' you don't have to be even averagely smart to work out what is happening. Unless you just want to follow Mr Corbyn and always support the 'victim' no matter how ridiculous his claims...

 Council workers around here work a damn site fewer hours than self employed or others in the market economy, they get paid at least as much and they get a lot of cushy extras, starting with guaranteed holidays and pubicly subsidised pensions. (y)

Its just not as simple as that
some may well be swinging the lead,
some can just look like they are but they are not and believe me you can have problems that will stop you working regularly and get feck all from the state after being thoroughly frightened and humiliated trying to get something yet still appear perfectly ok to outsiders

I wonder what the relative proportion of Labour: Conservative voters is:

A. In the public sector. (75:25?)
B. In the private sector. (25:75?)

And don't forget; it's the private sector that pays for the public sector. In fact, I have a theory that folk in the public sector and Guardian journalists don't deserve to have a vote.
No, public sector workers are big into property, labour govt is last thing they want

Andrew Neils a contemptible Git!!! Admittedly he is the best hatchet man in the business and most certainly working for the benefit of those who currently are clinging onto power (and I don't just mean Boris). And yes it would make for great TV if someone (anyone) punched him hard on the nose whilst being verbally assaulted by him.

Personally I wonder if any of the recent political stories are true? Maybe the Techbody has taken over the media and is engaged in actively confusing, confounding and turning everybody against everybody else by faking one article after another!

I can name you one council worker wgo works every bit as hard as any farmer I know, setting off at 7.30 am and rarely returning before 6 and often after 9 pm
