Using rebated fuel to transport the car is the issue there.
Please explain the loss to the exchequer of some bloke carrying a knackered Fiesta transit from place to place.

You are using rebated fuel to carry a vehicle that should run on non rebated fuel. It doesn't matter if it is a knackered Fiesta or a Humvee, they are the rules. This for my ten pence worth is where the NFU etc should be on the Government to tidy up stupid rules just like this.
They were decent and fair in the nineties not now mindWe pull a ramp or dropbox loader behind the lime spreader. We did pipe up so all the brakes work on both things on tow so everything stops in a strat line in an emergency. And had all the lights working on both (7 pin plug and hydraulic brake connecter we put in a place lime would not attack them too bad) put some extra side markers try not to surprise people overtaking by the extra light of the turnout.
Been running like that from the late 70s till now and never had a problem even got pulled in on a VSO Check when they were pulling in HGV's in a layby and they could not find anything apart from they said we should have chevron marker boards at the back (like HGVs) because of the total length, that would have been in the 90.s.

That is probably bigger than it looks, but then there's this for the big jobsAwfully small though, trailed chipper implies something that's more like 500 - 800 horsepower.

The rules are simple, just put white in the tractor and carry on if you want to. I didn't make the law and I don't particularly object to them tbh, just use a high sided trailer and an MGB then they can't see the car
Still wouldn't be legal to have either of those on a trailer being towed on red or won't be on friday anywayGet an electric car then, or bike.
So are you saying you can not tow a ATV petrol bike , which is road reg behind a tractorStill wouldn't be legal to have either of those on a trailer being towed on red or won't be on friday anyway
I think as of friday you would have to justify that towing it is entirely for the purposes of agriculture. An ATV petrol bike might be justifiable as a tool for rearing livestock but an electric car I think is dubious? So are you saying you can not tow a ATV petrol bike , which is road reg behind a tractor
Totally correct. So are you saying you can not tow a ATV petrol bike , which is road reg behind a tractor
This rule was put in place to stop plant operators towing all sorts. Please explain the loss to the exchequer of some bloke carrying a knackered Fiesta transit from place to place.
If it’s registered as an agri vehicle it should be fineSo are you saying you can not tow a ATV petrol bike , which is road reg behind a tractor
Towed vehicle needs to have brakes, or be under 750kg. Probably need to put it on a braked dolly or trailer to overcome that.Slightly off topic.
I assume that towing a small car behind the large motorhome is perfectly legal.
Something I would quite like to do if I could afford such a large motorhome , and find many places to park it in the uk.
I am on about the home from home motorhome the size of a 40+ seater coach size!!! Must cost a few quid and then there’s the problem of getting a license to drive one .
