I change oil and 3 filters every 5000 miles at a cost of £ 23 and I am looking for another vehicle at present
I do not want any warranty so that rules out dealers
If you want your warranty to be covered you will need to have book stamped by dealer when serviced
Many brands now include a year's roadside assistance and recovery cover as part of the service. Don't know about Toyota.
The price of £330+VAT sounds like not too far off for a major service on a pickup. My be a bit salty for the standard annual interim service though. Beware that it might need brake pads and wiper blades on top and they might, if they are pushy, try and foist you off with rubbish like engine flush, a premature brake fluid change or anything to raise the invoice value. Resist!
Wiper blades and pads are cheap at motor factors. Flushes are cons, as are fuel additives.
I get all spares and lubricants from trade supplier and using multi grade oil but next time using synthetic cost could go up to as much as £ 30I don't know what vehicle you have, but if it is fairly new you should be using a synthetic oil which with 3 decent filters would be more than £23. Can you tell us how you get it to £23 please?
Every four or five years has always been sufficient for me. Never had an issue. On my two cars they reckon I should have the brake fluid changed every 2 years. I think this is rather excessive, what do you think Cowabunga?
I've got a BMW, VW and a Defender and they all need a different spec of engine oil. If I take them to my local indie they will use what they have in bulk (whatever they tell you). If I go to a main dealer at least while they are robbing me they will use the correct stuff. When I had my first service on the BMW I managed to get 10% off! Next time it needs a service I will go the Hughes Bros who specialise in BMs and Mercs. The VW goes to Sunset who specialise in VW and Audi. I do the Defender myself and use the proper 5W/30 synthetic oil, not the JD Plus 50 11 and I buy a decent filter like Mann or Hengst.
Compared to a tractor, it sounds like the deal of the century.just booked my 2 year old toyota hilux in to the toyota dealship, i bought it new from. Ive been quoted £ 395 inc vat for a full service, that includes picking up and bringing back to my place of work, how does that compare ? the good the bad or what comments please

You do not need dealer stamp for warranty purposes. That legislation was changed many many years ago. Any certified garage stamp will legally cover your manufacturer warranty.
You do have to use either correct branded service parts, or at least correctly specced by manufacturer. You do not need dealer stamp for warranty purposes. That legislation was changed many many years ago. Any certified garage stamp will legally cover your manufacturer warranty.
