I got an Isuzu after my last Hilux so I'm fine... :) but a cousin and a friend have newish ones and both have been into the dealer several times with them now, mixed issues but seem centred around cpus.

On the plus side, I will say that FRF (our local Toyota dealer) does offer very good service indeed.
whats best one 1.9 or 2.5

im keeping my Mk7, not much paint on these new ones, windscreen, dpf, sensors a few common problems
Get the chassis and underneath cleaned of and coated/painted with something asap then. Mine at 11 years old (always intended treating underneath) is getting patched up for this mot and if i intend to get many more out of it I'm on the lookout for a chassis to clean up paint and swap. Make sure inside the chassis is done and the bracings on the crossmembers, they rot from the inside out. The tub on the back goes as well especially behind the plastic arch extensions if invincible spec, by the time the rust appears on the wing above the arch there's likely already big chunks missing behind.

Maybe 3 years ago.
Well I am looking at an advert for a New Invincible 2.8 with Auto box and Metallic paint for ÂŁ26113.00.

So I would say that going for a manual box and settling for solid paint would bring the cost down below ÂŁ25k, as it was just over ÂŁ1k more for auto and ÂŁ700 for metallic when we got ours.
Therefore you are talking crap about 3 years ago.

Seen a 2013 one with the chassis rotted through so much that the drawbar pulled out of it
My 2012 hilux failed the mot in jan due to bits of the chassis after falling out with rust,
I got it repaired then and got the chassis sandblasted and treated and painted with dinitrol.
Hope it stops the rot now
