Hello all,

I just wanted to thank my readers as I know quite a few of you are on the forum, as many of you know I am a freelance agricultural journalist and have written for the above titles for many years, sadly I have not been able to agree to the contract Kelsey Publishing want me to enter into with them, as for me as a freelance journalist and photographer their terms are sadly just too onerous, so some features that are in the pipeline are not going to be used, so my apologies to those of you that have not seen things published and my great big thanks to everyone that has shared knowledge with me and allowed me to picture their tractors and machinery as well as lending me their precious photographs from the past over the years.

But it looks like I will not be having any further features in the publications, which makes me really sad as I enjoy writing them and the feed back, some good, some bad, that I get from readers. But life goes on and
I will still be contributing to other titles.

No doubt I will bump into those of you that know me at various auctions and tractor events, it was great to see people at Cheffins Vintage and while I will be continuing as an agricultural journalist it looks like the page has turned on my contributions to T & M and T & FH, but upwards and onwards, one door closes etc.

I have a subscription to both magazines but feel I shall cancel them as since the takeover both have gone downhill fast.
Taking the private adds out has also taken the pleasure out of them and l feel it will not be long until you have to pay for the ad magazine.

T&M always seemed to be "printed down to a price", poor paper being the start. When started, T&FH was far superior, with in depth restoration articles, which didnt concentrate on just the paintwork! It has been going down hill for some years, this started when the original editorial team retired. With the sale to Kelsy its fallen off the cliff! Restorations are reduced to little more than a list of parts changed and who supplied the replacements. Last months "restoration" of a Model "N" was a dressed up respray, the thing still had parts missing in its "finished" photos!
I still take both however, searching, mainly in vain, for nugget of interest.
