No box for Allis Chalmers? My B used to run all day on just a sniff of TVO.
Seriously, I thought fuel consumption had been carefully measured since long before my college days 40 years ago. We had the Nebraska test results in easily digestible form even then, published in book form (by the NIAE?) Will look out my copy. And the calculations were studied at depth on the HND in those days.

Those Fendts will take a while to fuel up

Many years ago the 30 series JD's were condemned for using to much diesel. The reality was, they had small fuel tanks, this meant re-fuelling more than once a day.

The 40 series had a much bigger fuel tank, due to this, they were complemented as being much better on fuel than the 30 series, as there was no need to re-fuel more than once per day :)

The reality was, the 40 series used more fuel, as it was around this time JD started being creative with the alleged HP figures......allegedly !!!!

50 series deere, best on the our farm !, got 15 plate 5115m, which we very good on fuel.as for the main power horse 30 series, the remap cost, will be recovered by diesel not used.
Got a mate with new Holland, 4cyl with add blue, can' remmember model, anyway it use that much more fuel, on the same hedgetrimmer, he gone back to using his ts115 of the same power with 17k on the clock.

I demoed a fendt and it used noticeably more fuel than the Jd 7530 I was surprised . claas doesn't do spot rate use, but from what I can gather it uses more than the jd. But less than the fendt but the hp is a lot less than the fendt.

Deutz have set the benchmark for fuel efficiency for nearly 2 decades. It's why agco still buy in deutz engines to assemble fendts when it makes far greater financial sense for them to fit their own in house Sisu. However without the deutz engine, they could no longer claim fendts are frugal.

New Holland fpt engines have now taken the crown for the high horse four cylinder engine with a recent test of one mated to their new 8 speed dial clutch transmission model.

Deutz six cylinder engines still remain the most frugal tested by the independent DLG within Germany.

The deutz tractors that I run have saved enough fuel to buy many of the implements in my yard. Had I choosen a brand, say, painted a different green with yellow wheels, the cost of my dung spreader, bale wrapper, plough and 8m tedder would instead have been burnt in diesel.

this is an incredible claim are you sure they use that much less fuel?
