Tractor Guard Window Protectors

Anyone using Tractor Guard window Protectors? How do you get on with them?
Looking at rear window protection for a tractor on a Batwing topper.
I'm undecided whether to just bodge something together with a bit of weld mesh and bits of metal cobbled together from offcuts I probably have squirrelled away, or spend £170 on a proper job.
How long do the Tractor Guards last? Do they stay nicely easy see through? Or do they degrade over time?

Thanks, B'o'B

Game keeper ,had stone through window yesterday ,agriglaze came today ,and put new glass in , and asked him to supply a window gaurd , will look in morning ,what it is , and whatbit looks like
have one for side window when hedge cutter on ,but the suckers that hold it on are useless , so hold it on with 3 lenths of elastic rope ,what goes round door ,and holds it in place

We’ve had one a couple of years from James green at apg cab guards and been really pleased with it just Broken a couple of cab mounting brackets but otherwise all good and hasn’t degraded. Take it off rest of year as quick and easy.

l have TG window protection on 2 hedgecutter tractors. Original one is on 6 years now and has gone some bit cloudy but is still serviceable.
Second one is 3 years and noticeably clearer so they definitely do cloud over time.
l got both door and side window protection but the side window guards were back off in 5 mins. They just impair/distort vision of the cutting head too much for us and especially hopeless on a damp day.
The suckers arent great and need re applying frequently but the elastic cords prevent the thing falling off.
The door protecters have worked well though and have certainly saved the glass on several occasions.
For a back window l would think they'll be fine.
As said above they can be fitted or removed in about 30 seconds.

I've used door and rear window protectors from Tractor Guard. As above, the sucker cups are fairly useless & we resorted to bungee cords. They do get scratched over time but mine have saved many many windows, so a good investment IMO. We had a mesh screen before which was better for bigger stones but the perspex will take most of the force out of most debris.

I have a set all round except the windscreen for mowing ie. both doors, rear quarterlights and back window.had them six seasons so had my moneys worth but they are too hard to see through now ,partly scratches but also degraded somehow,a bit cloudy...so I made a semicircular frame this time that's further away from the Windows as the tractor guards were bad to clean behind when the dust got inbetween.not sure if my creation will work as well though as I haven't broken a glass in the six seasons with tractor guards on.time will tell

Last time I had a window fitted I asked the fitter about the guards and he told me the product I need is called mackrolon poly carbonate. Any perpex supplier will have it, he said they just buy it in in 8x4 sheets and cut it to shape. He said to make my own and save a fortune and that the suction cups that come with the "proper" ones didn't last five minutes anyway.

He said it's a hell of a good mark up and money maker for them as the sheet itself isn't particularly dear.

Its the same stuff they use on bus shelters, bus driver compartments ect.
