Tractor on Motorway cops tonight Channel 5

So all the ppl thats just said about how he shoulda been done have u never driven a dumper with the load not netted? Have u never driven a tractor when 16 that was above the legal weight? Or driven some machine at some point that wasnt totally road legal? Lot of hypocrites on this forum thats for sure as wev all done things or took an odd chance

When I started driving tractors there was hardly any road work other than contractors travelling between jobs.
Nowadays its farms with multiple blocks of land hauling stuff for miles.
That's the problem, contractors and farmers doing haulage work without any of the costs/rules that those running trucks have.

I've taken plenty of dodgy loads, wasn't happy about it but it was a case of do it or don't work here. The same thing is happening with a lot of these young folk working for people that can't/wont run legal.

While it may be a problem there just isnt enough money in the job to run on clear diesel or pay lorries to do the job. It gets lorry drivers backs up that farmers run about on red diesel doin haulage also with the current lorry driver shortage there wouldnt be enough lorrys available to do the farm work also. Iv been told that the new red diesel laws will be on a history based quota for red diesel for farmers does any1 know if this is the case and is agri contractors gonna get red diesel?

I thought it was a good example of how to speak to a nice policeman when he pulls you over. Quite apologetic and respectful, instead of getting chopsy.

I think the responsibility lies more with his boss/dad/whatever. When you were 16 you didn't often have the confidence to argue the toss when you were told to do something.

Quite right. The lad, almost certainly, is not an owner op and is still a minor.

He was very lucky I thought! Definately pushed his luck a bit with that one. It was a shocking move no matter the circumstances as he also passed about 4 cars who had already stopped at the light in front of him.

I bet the other drivers had a right laugh at the time when they saw the blue lights going on.

I thought that particular traffic officer did his job perfectly. He used his discretion to deal with the chap. The chap said please charge me with whatever you need to and was very polite.

I think it wasnt the programme that used the word ''net' it was the op on here. I think they aid insecure on uncovered load. Happy to be proved wrong though.

Im almost sure I heard the cop say it’s not netted? It’s still on my sky so I can recheck lol.

Unless the lad is building a sty for thee little piggies, it's not agricultural use, so the 16 year old isn't licensed, illegal use of red diesel etc etc etc.
