Get onto ebay and look for something like an old Kenwood Radio Cassette... the sort of thing that would be pride of place in a 1980's Ford Escort, before it got nicked. They were pretty bombproof, a lot less to go wrong and you will find they have proper buttons to push instead of tactile nubby things or god forbid a touchscreen.

Edit: I just had a quick look, and prices seem to have gone up a fair bit since I last bought one. Now they are 'vintage' and 'classic' and I guess some sort of hipster coolness about them. I picked up one with its original box and ISO connector a fair few years back for a tenner :/

I fitted one of these a few months ago and I'm happy so far. It's a slim fit so no problem if there isn't much room behind the radio. Just fails on the no fancy contraptions because it has a remote control

you will laugh at this. this year i bought 3 radios, complete with inbuilt speakers and bluetooth etc, simply because i couldnt be bothered doing much wiring and the other few drivers were looking bluetooth for linking to music on the phone etc. about £20 on ebay but cant put up a link, was very empressed and just 3 wires and arial and good recption.

Blaupunkt also made a good radio as Volkswagen and John Deere used them at one stage as well as many other manufacturers

Superb car radios; we had one in our old VW camper for years but gave the radio to an older brother when we scrapped the van but some scrote stole the radio and his trolley jack along with it. Don't understand why they took the trolley jack, the radio wasn't that heavy! :ROFLMAO:

I used to get them from the local auto electricians, people would bring stuff in for repair and then never collect them, 6 months on pay the price of repair and you could have the item.

Bought 1 of these last year on recommendation from someone on here.
Embarrassingly cheap. So far so good.
These are good, we have 3 of them, so far so good
