That's ridiculous. Should be half that. Must be a mistake.Would be interested to know what is being paid for main dealer services on NH and different makes. Still picking myself up of the floor after getting a £2400 bill for 1200hr on NH T6 1.55
They supplied oil £323 for back end £72 for engine. That's ridiculous. Should be half that. Must be a mistake.
I'm half that for a t7 260. I would supply back end oil.
A main dealer not using manufacturer recommended oil?I would be charging you £600 for a 600hr service and £1200 for a 1200hr that includes oils. We as a CNH dealer never used genuine oil, far to expensive!

What happens if something goes bang on warranty and what would they say if the customer serviced their own tractor, didn't use the recommended oil and had a problem?A lot of dealers don't use genuine oils.
I think New Holland is Ovoline isn't it? In fairness the Ambra at my local NH dealer is competitive so tend to use that, after a quick ring around to checkYou don't actually have to use "genuine" fluids for warranty purposes, just approved fluids with the appropriate numbers and letters stuck to them. I don't think there are many car/tractor manufacturers that actually make their own oil, I assume they'd just be bought in or made to spec by Castrol, Mobil etc, and then put in an expensive bottle. My local SDF dealer uses Castrol oil.
If something goes bang under warranty, the dealer's going to try to wriggle their slimy ass out paying for it regardless of who's done the servicing or what oil has been used.
I bought some new holland oil recently, branded as ambra but made by petronas.think it was super gold, maybe not but was their top spec engine oil,£395 delivered.I think New Holland is Ovoline isn't it? So what do you charge on a 5000 hr service?I would be charging you £600 for a 600hr service and £1200 for a 1200hr that includes oils. We as a CNH dealer never used genuine oil, far to expensive!
That’s now what he’s saying , he’s using the recommended spec oils but they just don’t have Nh written on the drum, no tractor manufacture make their own oil, a very important point that a lot of people forget. It’s the spec sheet on the drum you need to understand , not the fancy colour and picture of your tractor on the drum that counts .A main dealer not using manufacturer recommended oil?
Agreed, been stung in the past being charged for things not done. They usually send an apprentice anyway,it really isn’t difficult ,even using manufacturers oil it shouldn’t be more than £2/litre if you buy it in 200litre drums (apart from the latest engine oils)What's so hard about servicing a tractor? It's in the manual!
Yeah I think you're right it's PetronasI bought some new holland oil recently, branded as ambra but made by petrol as.think it was super gold, maybe not but was their top spec engine oil,£395 delivered.
