Hi
I have a 826 ares and today she was running fine, then all of a sudden I started it back up and wouldn't engage forward or reverse, so I turned it of with the attentions of starting it back up, for it to not start not turning over at all now. I have dash lights coming on as normal just not cranking the starter motor. I also noticed

when it was started my computer on the window pillar had no life on it.
It will start if I by pass turning the key and using a screw driver on the starter motor. I have two warning lights that pop up for a couple of seconds I will attach them, any help would be much appreciated. I hoping its the relay but thats the best I can come up with.
Thanks
George

According to my Ares manual, those lights are (left) low pressure in hydraulic circuit and back end, and (right) blocked hydraulic circuit filter. So chances are the hydraulic filter is blocked and thats causing the low pressure and the electronic brain won't let you start it on the key to prevent damage.

how will it know it has a blocked filter without the engine running?
I am afraid i think its a bit deeper than that.

Some sort of sensor one assumes. My guess would be that once the 'filter blocked' sensor is triggered it creates a lock in the ECU memory that stops the tractor being started until the blockage is fixed, and the sensor reset.

First port of call has to be to check the hydraulic filter surely, given those warning lights?

Now I know nothing about these models but I wouldn’t think the trans pressure warning would stop it from starting but should stop it from driving as it would be low pressure.

I would think it has two problems. What kind of safety start has it got? Does it need to be in neutral? Foot on clutch? etc to start normally. There will be a switch for that somewhere, it could even be a fuse. I had a 5A fuse stopping a Fendt from starting up, someone had swapped it with another fuse to get trailer lights working. Have you got a multimeter? Any voltage at all getting to the small wire on starter solenoid when you turn the switch?

The electrics on these Renault Ares models are prone to problems (ironically the electrics are British made), and a problem in one area can often cause all manner of separate systems to go on the blink, as incorrect information into the ECU from one area results in wrong outputs to others. I have one and its had nothing but problems ever since I bought it, engine cutting out in the middle of work, the transmission losing drive suddenly, various error lights etc etc, and after extensive investigative work that got nowhere I sent the injector pump off to be checked and we discovered that there was some problem inside it (its electronic of course  ) that looked as if it had been that way since the factory, by the missing parts. Since the refurbed pump was refitted its worked like a dream, not a single warning light or error code, no engine or transmission cut outs. But none of the warning lights or error codes ever pointed to injector pump issues.

Any hyd output when it starts? Steering lift arms etc? Did you dump the clutch pedal after crossing starter. Are the F N R lights on or flashing?
