Latest Neuson dumpers over a certain size are to be cabbed according to an article I have seen recently. Hope they include aircon.

Ha! Seem to remember although before my time Claas had some form of aircon with some unit on the cab roof of the early dominator I think?and if you put on the anchors all of a sudden the poor bugger in the cab got drowned!? I m sure someone will know this?

The first machines that I saw with air con were really designed for the other side of the Atlantic. MF 1505 artic and MF 760 combine. The new '79 MF 2680 also had it fitted but not sure if standard.
The Claas Dom that I drove in the early 80s was a late 70s machine fitted with the evaporative contraption. Better than nothing but not particularly healthy.

Oh I did love those 760s nearest I got to one was a Britains model!

My air-conditioned cab in the early 70s,couldn't wait to take the canvas cover off if there were likely to be a few nice days. Only tractor on the place with a cab of sorts at the time. Hay making was a great job on an open tractor! This 5000 was traded in 75 for a new one with the Ford safety cab, not a great place to be.

Apparently even modern air conditioning can give you Legionnaires if you spend too long in the cab. A local hero ended up spending a week in hospital after baling for 3 days and 3 nights

Surprising how many don’t clean the cab air and recirculating filters. Those air con cleaning sprays aren’t unduly expensive either. I hear a lot say that air con gives them a bad head, throat, cough, chest etc.

Mostly it’s lack of hydration ie drinking water, better still have a container without a top of water in the cab for the aur con to absorb that up rather than the moisture from your body. As it’s a constant 18 or 19 degree in cab you don’t feel thirsty therefore don’t drink water. Need to down abminimum 2 ltr of water in a long day in the cab.

I take a minimum 2L bottle, and drink it, every day. I hate to see others downing fizzy stuff all day.

The first machine we had with AC was a 1989 MF 3650. That tractor destroyed us and everything since has to have AC or it's of no interest to us. The 168 is climate controlled, it all depends on what the climate is doing at the time .

Used to drive a 188 on the forager with the steel clad cab,left hand door was off that all summer.

We had a 6610 Bubble cab pizza oven with side opening windows that were of no use whatsoever!! To be fair the tractor was kinda ok intill everyone else moved onto the new 40 series or the Deere 00s with flat floors and A/C and powershifts, few 6180 etc appeared aswell. A week carting silage with it while all the other lads were sat in their clean cool cabs just ruined you!!
