But the experts will say the best way to reseed is undersowing with barley and you often see grass seeds with fat hen as high as a donkeys eye before they do anything , then its on with the spray , when an early quick graze would have cleared the lot
Only had fat hen bad one year and that was in straight grass seeds 2 years ago in the dry.

Undersowing peas and barley with grass and clover you have to be patient, which most farmers aren't, and wait for the weather to be on the crops side.
1st week of April at the earliest here for drilling IMHO.
Never had a failure yet.
