Yes, it was. Absolutely awful.

I read that earlier and assumed it was a shoot trailer.
A sad incident.

The photo I saw of the bridge looks like something out of Indiana Jones.

Very sad for all concerned and I'm sure the HSE & Police will go to town on it with a fine toothed comb.

Looks like it. Eleven people sharing a Ranger and a small lambing trailer on a very dodgy looking swing bridge. Woudn't want to be the one defending that as sensible.

If its the one in the link I might have walked across it by myself but no way in a heavy vehicle and trailer with a group of people.
Things like that are why we have so many rules these days.

But highlights, whatever your daily job, or business is, always contemplate what if, !!

A lot of people say they wouldn't have crossed the bridge based on the pictures, well of course you wouldn't because the pictures are of a collapsed bridge.
I don't like bridges much at the best of times but it looked OK pre-collapse and they no doubt used it almost daily. As always there are lots of experts after the event.

Kinda destroys the usual defence of their being no money to do things properly. And yes, I know that there are costs too.

But I’d rather wait to see what HSE and the courts decide before making too many judgements.
