Trailed forage harvesters

I agree, those things will only slow up a lump, some people run them high to just let the grass in. The less friction or obstacles the better. Although the intake on the 1100 must be pretty good for a lump of grass? A roller is def the way to go.
1100 like everything else don't like lump, the feed rollers don't open wide enough, the drum can eat grass but the feed rollers can't take it

Can anyone tell me where the grease nipple is on this feed roller.gear box side. I know an 1100 inside out but there have been some changes

The 2019 big bang, when a blade holder on the drum snapped off, threw blades everywhere, jammed in the drum, bent the drum, snapped the long steel pto shaft and exploded the drum housing...

My brother (24) had to fix all this with replacement drum etc and fab up new panels.View attachment 960465View attachment 960466
Few more photos showing the 2019 big bang and how the drum came apart causing the damage. New drum blasted, primed and installed.

Does the jf place in Portadown still exist. I think it was j farm. It changed address at one time but there was a guy Alan that smoked a pipe was a very knowledgeable chap on harvesters

Just needs an insert for the ring and they can use the drawbar on the tractor.
They tried to go the other way, it comes on a drawbar and pin so they wanted to go ring and hook pick up... alas shortening the distance between the tractor and harvester so inevitably... crash bang wallop.

I think to do that you need to add 9" to the length of the harvester drawbar to do it properly.

That wouldn’t get over the issue of splitting the angle the yokes need to turn at between both ends of the shaft
